Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Float pool position covering multiple units: MedSurg Tele and PCU across both campuses, including inpatients holding in ED
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must work Christmas holiday as part of permanent staff rotation
• Nurse to patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% score within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Unit assignments provided 2 hours prior to shift start via text message from staffing office
• Schedule published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time - flexibility required
• Night shift may accommodate block scheduling
• 8-hour general hospital orientation plus 12-hour shifts at West MedTele and PCU
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Must have at least 1 year PCU experience
• Must be comfortable titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
• Must be able to interpret telemetry strips
• Care for geriatric patients, orthopedic patients, post-procedural cardiac patients, post MI, post cardiac catheterization, and CABG post-op day 3-4
• Work with respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow
• Dress code: Solid color professional scrubs (transitioning to Navy scrubs in October)
• Use Cerner charting system
• Work with nursing aids and monitor techs available
• No call or standby requirements
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract (3 shifts if contract under 13 weeks)
