American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a night shift, requiring at least 2 years of acute care experience and a NE or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in an acute care hospital on the Tele/Med Surg units (7W, 7E, 5E) with a trauma level 2 designation
- Patient population is primarily adults with occasional pediatric cases (1–5 per year)
- Common diagnoses include post-surgical, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, weakness, and cancer
- Unit consists of 60 beds with an RN ratio of 5:1
- Required to float to 6E, acute rehab, and geriatric psych units as needed
- Night shifts of 12 hours (1830-0700) with every other weekend required
- Uses Epic for charting and Alaris IV pumps
- Navy scrubs required
- Responsibilities include caring for a diverse patient population and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
- Encouraged to demonstrate a positive mindset, teamwork, and cultural sensitivity to serve a diverse community including African American and Korean-speaking patients
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; non-compliance will result in termination
- Pass/fail exam on skills learned during orientation must be completed successfully
- Must provide 2 professional references, including 1 supervisor from the last 12 months and 1 peer or supervisor from the last 3 years
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage may be required
- Active NE or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience in an acute setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Prior experience with Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps preferred
- Must pass a skills-based open book exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
- Driver’s license required to verify permanent address outside a 50-mile radius
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year
- Submission of date of birth and COVID vaccination status required
