RN - Med Surg Tele
Job Details:
• 26-bed medical surgical telemetry unit specializing in post-PCI, pacemaker, AICD, and post-MI patient care
• Patient ratio of 1:5 during days and weekends, 1:6 during nights
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Float to other Med Surg units as needed
• Must have minimum 1-2 years of experience with previous charge experience required
• New York nursing license in hand required - no exceptions
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Must live more than 75 miles from facility
• Travel experience required
• Scrub colors: any combination of navy and white
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Pre-start modules required (up to 5 billable hours)
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical conditions
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skills include IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, PICC management, telemetry monitoring, wound care, tracheostomy care, and isolation precautions
Facility:
This tertiary care hospital operates 528 staffed beds and provides comprehensive medical services to the community. The facility utilizes Epic charting systems and maintains a full range of interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The medical surgical telemetry unit focuses on complex care for medicine, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients requiring specialized cardiac monitoring and interventions.
