Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 PM
• Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 PM
• Weekend requirement: Must work 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday/Saturday/Sunday all considered weekend shifts)
• Patient ratios: Goal is 1:4, typically running 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Float as needed to Telemetry, Medical/Surgical units, or Pandemic Unit with ratios up to 1:6 or possibly 1:7
• Dress code: Navy blue scrub top and bottom with navy scrub jackets (no hoodies)
• Electronic Medical Record: Allscripts Sunrise with Pyxis pharmacy system
• Telemetry monitoring: Nihon Kohden equipment
• Self-scheduling allowed when unit needs are met
• Two-day orientation: Day 1 includes 4 hours HR orientation plus 8 hours on unit with preceptor, Day 2 full shift with preceptor
• Common patient diagnoses: Chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacemaker, pre/post catheterizations, Tikosyn therapy management
• Manage radial bands and removal but do not pull sheaths
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract

This healthcare facility operates a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms. The facility provides comprehensive support services including 24/7 hospitalist coverage, intensivist coverage, IV team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The organization maintains modern equipment and technology to support intermediate care patients requiring telemetry monitoring and specialized cardiac care.
