The role involves coordinating with critical care physicians and handling rapid response calls without requiring specific procedural duties. Candidates must be board certified with an active NY license and relevant certifications such as BLS and CPR.

Coverage Needs Details: Sporadic coverage needs each month, 2 - 4 shifts day or night. Days and Nights will vary depending on what shifts are open each month. Normally, the coverage is not consecutive days in a row, and in unusual circumstances may need 2 days consecutively

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Active NY License
DEA Required: Yes
Board Status: Board Certified
Required Certifications: BLS, CPR and NYS Infection Control
Minimum Years Experience (if applicable): 1
JOB INFORMATION
Typical Day: Rounding on Patients and discharges in AM. Can take admissions out of the ED, responding to rapid response calls, daytime/nighttime admissions and consults. Covering admissions to hospitalist service , cross covering ICU patients but have a Critical Care physician who will also oversee ICU patients.
Avg admissions of 4-6 per night
Avg admissions 15+ per day
Avg 3 - 4 providers staffed during the day. Night is staffed with 1 provider, would be locum only.
Procedures not required
Open ICU, 6 ICU beds
Hospitalists and APP team handle the floor calls for all patients
Trauma Level: None
APP/Mid-Level Coverage Avail: Yes, during 7a -5p. No APP coverage during the night at the moment.
