L&D RN – High-risk unit – must be skilled in all aspects of L&D, postpartum, and couplet care. Must be able to circulate all C-sections and assist with deliveries (“catch the baby”).
Prescreen:
- 2 supervisor refs (charge accepted): 1 within 12 months & 1 within 3 years
- No direct employment with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity in past 12 months (PRN via agency ok)
Unit Info:
- 10 L&D beds | 2 C-section ORs | 12 PP beds | 3 OB-ED + 3 antepartum triage
- 100–150 births/month
- Ratios per AWHONN: L&D 1:1–2 | Couplet 1:3–4 | Antepartum 1:1–3
Certs: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced (STABLE preferred)
Skills:
- Float to MB, circulate C/S, titrate Pitocin & drips, read EKGs (PACU)
- Experience with preterm labor, inductions, hypertension, etc.
Support:
Charge RN (no patients), OB surg techs, 24/7 anesthesia & OB hospitalist, Neo on-call, RT available
Details:
- 12-hr shifts (start 6:45) | bedside report
- EOW + holiday rotation | 30-min call response
- Float to Sacramento facilities (rare mid-shift float)
- Scrubs provided
