Our job summary

This locum tenens orthopedic surgeon role provides inpatient trauma coverage in a Level III trauma setting, requiring approximately seven 24-hour shifts per month. Candidates must be board certified in orthopedic surgery with active licensing in Colorado or IMLC acceptance, and have training in ATLS, ACLS, and DEA registration. The position includes pediatric to geriatric patient care, NP/PA support, and use of the Epic EMR system with comprehensive onboarding and credentialing support.

Practice Environment:• Inpatient orthopedic trauma coverage• Number of beds: 14• Average admissions per shift: 0-6• Patient population: Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric

Clinical Scope & Skills:• Orthopedic surgery coverage• Sports Medicine experience highly preferred

Staffing & Support:• NP/PA support available• EMR: Epic

EMR Training Requirements (Epic):• Credentialing pre-application and full application must be completed to initiate EMR access• EMR account creation may take up to 5 days after application submission• Required learning modules must be completed prior to virtual EMR training• Virtual EMR (PPL) training must be completed at least one week prior to first shift• First-day details will be released only after EMR training and modules are completed

Candidate Requirements:• Board Certified Orthopedic Surgery - Required• Active Colorado license or IMLC - Required• ATLS and ACLS - Required• ACLS - Highly preferred• Active DEA - Required for credentialing- Transferred DEA acceptable, but must remain active for the full duration of the assignment
