Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with an active AL or compact license, night shift availability, and strong IV and wound care skills.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shifts, typically 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00, with an option for 4x12s
- Floating to other units may be required
- Every other weekend required
- May be assigned charge nurse duties as needed
- Level II Trauma center environment
- Responsibilities include IV starts, wound care, and following isolation precautions
- Must take a required 30-minute meal break per shift
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered
Requirements
- Active AL or compact RN license
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Fit Test required
- IV start, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac skills required
- Level II trauma experience preferred
- Prior travel nurse experience preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
