About the Role:
Under the direction of the unit manager, this role provides direct clinical patient care. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. Monday-Friday, no nights or weekends! Position in our Pediatric Hematology Oncology Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately evaluates assigned patients and documents clinical assessments, including emotional and physical pain, and required comfort measures; prioritizing patient/family needs into plan of care.
- Develops and coordinates discharge plans, independently or in collaboration with other staff. Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving skills, professional behavior, and customer service.
- Participates in team meetings regarding patient care and/or practice issues.
- Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care.
- Engages in ongoing practice needs and initiatives to improve quality, engagement, and successful outcomes; remains current on nursing research and evidence-based clinical practice changes
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: AA Degree in Nursing, Bachelor's preferred
- Licensure/Certification:Registered Nurse License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license, American Heart Association BLS CPR, PALS and APHON certification is required within one year of hire
- Experience: Prior pediatric experien
