Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management
Set the tone for discipline, professionalism, and respect in the shop.
Supervise daily technician activity and coach team members as needed.
Provide calm, steady leadership rooted in Biblical values—no yelling or ego.
Assist with complex diagnostics and guide less experienced techs.
- Diagnostics, Mechanical & Technical
Perform and support advanced diagnostics on diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Use tools such as Cummins INSITE, CAT ET, Allison DOC, and Detroit software.
Execute hands-on repairs when necessary to maintain workflow and reduce backlog.
Identify root causes quickly and prevent recurring issues.
- Operations & Workflow Management
Assign work orders, track labor hours, and ensure efficient technician flow.
Maintain complete and accurate documentation for billing, warranties, and service records.
Oversee parts ordering, inventory control, vendor relationships, and returns.
- Customer & Vendor Communication
Provide respectful, timely updates to customers regarding repair status.
Coordinate specialty orders, inspections, and scheduled maintenance.
Serve as the point of contact for vendors and suppliers.
- Quality Control & Shop Organization
Uphold high-quality repair standards to reduce comebacks and improve uptime.
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient shop environment.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in diesel, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostics and repair.
Calm, patient leadership style that values respect, discipline, and self-control.
Strong ability to manage shop operations and technician workflow.
Experience with heavy-duty trucks (e.g., Mack, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner).
Skilled in diagnostic software platforms for commercial vehicle systems.
Familiar with inventory, parts management, and shop documentation.
(Preferred, Not Required) Welding skills in steel and aluminum
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a major plus.
No formal education required—experience and character are what count most.
