American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position with high-risk antepartum care and float requirements, requiring a WA or Compact RN license and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit specializing in high-risk antepartum care
- Patient population includes PTL, previa, preeclampsia, diabetes, hypertension, PROM, twins, substance use disorder during pregnancy, and fetal loss
- Floating required to the Postpartum unit and potentially to other facilities within the state
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
- No newborns cared for on this unit
- Epic EMR system is used and requires experience
- Responsibilities include circulating for C-sections and managing central lines and medication drips
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs of any color are allowed; scrubs are provided when floated to L&D units
- Former permanent staff must wait three months before returning as a traveler and cannot work within 50 miles of a previous facility
- Minimal to no requested time off is preferred; RTO requests may affect consideration
- Travelers must be willing to float as assigned
- COVID and flu vaccination documentation may be required
- References and documentation must be provided for consideration
- Active WA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- AWHONN Advanced, BLS, and NRP certifications required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with C-sections and intermediate AWHONN required
- Ability to assist with bedside procedures such as amnio or sterile spec exams, maintain PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, use syringe pumps, and administer heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
- References from at least two supervisors covering one year of comparable specialty employment required
