This part-time position for a Registered Nurse at Mercy Jefferson Rehabilitation Unit involves providing and coordinating patient care for adults and geriatrics recovering from neurological and medical conditions. The role requires clinical skills in rehabilitation nursing, including patient evaluation, maintaining confidentiality, and collaboration with healthcare teams. Candidates must have RN licensure, relevant certifications, and the physical ability to perform duties involving lifting and prolonged standing.

We are also known as Acute Rehab, ARU or Inpatient Rehab. Rehabilitation nursing offers a gratifying career for nurses who want to use all of their clinical skills, make a visible difference in their patients’ lives, and work as part of a collaborative healthcare team. We provide comprehensive collaborative care to all adult and adult geriatric patients with neurological and other medical conditions of resent onset or regression and who have experienced loss of functions in activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, or communication. Frequent diagnoses: CVA, brain injury, spinal injury, amputation, hip fracture, joint replacement, and other neurological syndromes.
Qualifications:- Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
- One more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe
