RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with 3x12 night shifts
• Work on 5 North/Step-down, a 20-bed unit with all private rooms
• Patient ratios of 4:1 when fully staffed, up to 5:1 depending on staffing situation
• Care for a mixture of pulmonary, cardiac, neuro, GI, and surgery patients who are stable with higher risk of becoming unstable
• Unit accepts combination of adult med-surg, telemetry, and step-down patients based on bed availability
• Administer critical drips including Amiodarone, Esmolol, Insulin, Lasix, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin
• Work with specialized equipment including Nihon Kohden monitoring system, BiPAP/CPap/Optiflow/Home Vent
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations with daily census of 19 patients
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Weekend coverage required
• 20 hours of orientation provided
• Complete lab work within 72 hours of contract signing
• Complete non-billable modules during orientation (4-6 hours average)
• Must live more than 50 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)

The facility maintains high staffing standards with dedicated charge nurses, patient care assistants, monitor technicians, and unit clerks. The organization offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and various other specialized services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
