Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with Med/Surg Telemetry expertise, holding an active OH or compact license and required certifications for a rotating 13-week contract.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- D/N rotating 12-hour shifts, with the possibility of variable scheduling to meet operational needs
- Assignment length is 13 weeks
- Care for adult med/surg and telemetry patients
- Traveler may be required to float as needed
- Traveler must work at least every other holiday
- Assessment modules must be completed pre-start and annually as required by the facility
- Badge pick-up and onsite fingerprinting are required prior to start
- Permanent and per diem staff must wait 1 year after their previous end date before returning to the facility
- Assignment length at any facility location is limited to 18 consecutive months, with a 6-month break required before returning
- Nurses are currently exempt from nicotine screening requirements
- PAPRs for facial hair cannot be used except with approved exemptions
- Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Two supervisory references required for consideration
Requirements
- Active permanent OH or compact state RN license in hand
- Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required, prior to any travel assignments
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Must successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
- No open background check cases or active license disciplinary actions
- Must be able to obtain BCI/FBI fingerprints within 48 hours of contract signing
