- Conduct one-time, non-treatment exams and separation health assessments for veterans.
- Exams are primarily interview-based, with some physical assessment (e.g., range of motion and muscle strength testing).
- No prescribing or ongoing treatment required.
- Coverage Options:
- Option 1: Travel and perform exams at a designated leased facility.
- Option 2: Schedule veterans within your own practice.
- Work either half-days (4-hour shifts) or full-days (8-hour shifts) depending on your availability.
- Board Certification: Required in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or other general medicine backgrounds.
- Proficiency in:
- Musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular evaluations.
- METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Experience using a goniometer for physical assessments.
- Certification Requirements:
- Board Certified physician.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Idaho.
- Willingness to complete DMA certification (CME credits available). This certification is necessary after privileging, though expenses for DMA certification and portal training are not covered.
