The Child Life Assistant Per Diem (ICU) supports therapeutic play programs and activities tailored to individual and group patient needs in an intensive care setting. They maintain supportive relationships with patients and families within therapeutic boundaries and assist with supply management and volunteer task delegation under the direction of child life specialists. The role requires infection prevention adherence and facilitates communication of patient interactions to specialists when necessary.
Organizes and facilitates play programs and activities to meet individual and group needs. Develops and maintains supportive relationships within therapeutic boundaries with patients and families. When needed escalates observations and interactions to the child life specialist. Assists in purchasing, restocking, and maintaining supplies for Child Life Programming. Maintains appropriate infection prevention and control and safety standards for patient care needs. With direction from child life specialists, assists in delegating routine tasks to assigned volunteers.
Minimum Qualifications Education: High-school or GED diploma
Experience: Preferred early childhood education experience
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
