TRIHCI is a tribally governed healthcare organization serving Native American communities in Tulare County. We provide culturally sensitive, patient-centered care across primary care, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and public health services. Our mission is to blend modern medicine with traditional values to improve health outcomes and community wellness.

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Medical Director to lead our clinical team. This role begins as a locum assignment with a clear pathway to permanent placement.

Schedule:

• 3 days/week Direct patient care
• 2 days/week Administrative and leadership duties

• Provide comprehensive primary care services
• Oversee clinical operations and supervise providers
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and track metrics
• Develop and maintain clinical policies and protocols
• Mentor mid-level providers and clinical staff
• Ensure regulatory compliance (IHS, Medi-Cal, Medicare)
• Engage with the community and represent TRIHCI at events

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Board-certified/eligible in Family or Internal Medicine
• Unrestricted CA medical license (or eligibility)
• 5+ years of clinical experience, including leadership
• Experience with quality improvement and rural healthcare
• Strong communication and cultural competency skills
