Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a home health position requiring 1 year of experience and a VA PT license.
Responsibilities
- Home health setting serving a diverse patient population
- Typical caseload includes 6 to 7 weighted visits per day
- Day shift schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Every 4th or 5th weekend coverage may be needed for orthopedic cases only
- Experience with MatrixCare or Epic is preferred but not required
- Responsibilities include planning and administering prescribed physical therapy treatments and providing patient and caregiver education
- Role involves participation in required discharge planning and completion of all documentation per policy
- Must be able to direct patient participation in tasks to restore and enhance performance
- Three hours of pre-start modules are required and completed before starting the assignment
- Fit testing must be passed as facility cannot accommodate PAPR devices; any history of fit test issues will exclude candidates
- Open to first-time travelers
- Radius rule does not apply to allied positions for local candidates
- Requests for time off are reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis
Requirements
- Active VA PT State License or compact license required if applicable
- Minimum of 1 year of recent physical therapy experience required
- Home health experience preferred
- Current CPR certification required
- No prior license or background hits accepted
- Must provide two professional references
- Must submit a copy of driver's license and Social Security card
