Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a neurosurgical and surgical unit, requiring prior travel and large teaching hospital experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is on a neurosurgical and surgical unit (M5) at a large teaching hospital
- Provides care for medical-surgical and telemetry patient populations
- 12-hour day shifts with an expectation to work every other weekend
- Schedule is adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs; no block scheduling allowed
- Travelers are required to work 2 out of 4 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day
- Epic EMR is used and recent experience with Epic (within last 2 years) is required
- Public transportation is not accessible; personal or rental vehicle and all-season or snow tires recommended during November–April
- Bi-weekly orientations occur on Mondays
- Travelers must provide reliable work history information for consideration
- Must be able to respond to emails promptly during the interview and onboarding process
- First time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
Requirements
- Active VT or compact RN license required
- AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; NIHSS must be completed prior to start
- Minimum of 2 years recent unit experience required
- Prior travel nurse assignment required
- Experience in a large, teaching facility required
- Epic EMR experience from within the past 2 years is mandatory
