The Structural Steel Estimator is responsible for preparing precise cost estimates and bid proposals for commercial and warehouse steel erection projects by reviewing blueprints, specifications, and schedules. This role requires collaboration with fabricators and operations teams to ensure project scope clarity and accurate bidding, utilizing tools such as Microsoft Excel and MS Project. Candidates typically hold a related bachelor's degree and have at least five years of experience in structural steel estimating, with preferred certifications like CPE.

As a Structural Steel Estimator, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping projects from the earliest stages, delivering accurate estimates that set the tone for successful builds.

What You’ll Do:
- Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, schedules, and related documents to prepare accurate, detailed project estimates
- Manage project documentation including Plans, Addenda, ASIs, RFIs, and change orders
- Prepare precise take-offs, cost estimates, and bid proposals—meeting deadlines without compromising accuracy
- Collaborate closely with fabricators and operations to ensure scope clarity and bid readiness
- Draft steel erection bid proposals using Microsoft Excel, Word, MS Project, and other estimating tools
- Apply strong communication skills to interpret drawings, logistics plans, schedules, and budgets effectively
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Structural/Civil Engineering, or Business (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of commercial structural steel estimating experience
- Proven ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
- CPE (Certified Professional Estimator) designation a plus
