Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 2 years of experience required
• First time travelers accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must successfully pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Weekend coverage required - every other weekend
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity as needed
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Adults only unit - no pediatric care required
• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must be proficient in accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, PCA pumps, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, and wound care
• Experience needed with heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, and rapid response/code teams
• Must have compact license or Maryland license at time of submission
• Two supervisor references required
• Maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract with no RTO in first two weeks

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 44-bed medical surgical telemetry unit with a daily census of 32 patients. The facility specializes in caring for patients with diabetes, congestive heart failure, infections, sepsis, COPD, and various surgical cases including orthopedic procedures, colorectal surgeries, and bariatric surgery. The unit is equipped with modern technology including patient lifts, PCA pumps, chest tubes, telemetry monitoring, and capnography equipment. Comprehensive interdisciplinary support is available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams.
