The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician will serve as Medical Director for a 10-bed acute rehab unit, leading inpatient care and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient recovery. This role requires a board-certified or board-eligible physician in PM&R with leadership experience and strong knowledge of rehabilitation protocols. Candidates must be licensed, able to manage clinical operations, provide consultations, and participate in call coverage while fostering collaborative care.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to serve as Medical Director for our 10-bed acute rehab unit. This vital leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to lead high-quality inpatient care, coordinate multidisciplinary efforts, and shape patient recovery journeys. Required Skills:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in PM&R
- Proven leadership skills and experience in medical management
- Strong understanding of inpatient rehabilitation protocols
- Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage clinical operations effectively
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine
- Familiarity with Epic EMR system
- Prior experience as a Medical Director or in a supervisory role
- Advanced certifications relevant to rehabilitation medicine
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD or DO)
- Completion of a PM&R residency or fellowship preferred
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in inpatient rehabilitation settings
Other Requirements:
- Active medical license and necessary certifications
- Availability for weekly clinic/hospital hours (approximately 20 hours per week)
- Schedule flexibility to support rounding and consults
- Ability to handle 6-9 patient consultations daily on the acute rehab unit
- Participation in 24/7 call coverage from 5 pm on weekdays to 8 am the following morning
- Willingness to participate in consults and collaborate with hospital staff
- Comply with all relevant licensure, certification, and compliance standards
