This locum tenens anesthesiologist position in North Dakota requires coverage for weekday and weekend shifts across multiple months with both adult and pediatric surgical patients. The role involves providing anesthesia for general, obstetric, complex, and ophthalmologic surgeries in a hospital setting with 25 beds and requires board certification or eligibility and active licensure. Candidates must be willing to take call and perform a range of anesthesia techniques including epidurals, blocks, and spinals, with preference for those able to obtain an active ND license.
Coverage Needed Clinic: 7a-3:30p Sept 5-7, 12-13, 20, 27 Oct 2-3, 5-6, 11-12, 18-19, 24-26 Nov 2-3, 6, 8-9, 15, 20, 22, 30 Dec 7, 11, 13-14, 18, 20-21 On Call During the week: 7a-3:30p and Night call 3:30p-7a Sept 6, 8, 11, 13-15 Oct 2-4, 6 Dec 26-27 On Call Weekends: 7a-7a - 24 hour call Sept 9 (7a) - 11 (7a) Sept 16 (7a) - 18 (7a) AUGUST-DECEMBER: OPEN AVAILABILITY Clinical Details Patient demographic: Adult 99%; Pediatric 1% Average Number of Surgical Patients per Day- 7 Patient Types- General 35% Ob 22% Complex 32% Ophthalmology 11% (Complex ophthalmology describes a different supply item that the ophthalmologist uses for the procedure. Nothing changes for anesthesia) 6 OR's and 1 endoscopy suite. We run 3 rooms at a time. Number of Hospital beds- 25 Trauma level- 4 beds Requirements Board Certified Anesthesiology or Truly Board Eligible 0-3 Years from completion of residency Active ND License - highly preferred willing to accept candidates needing to obtain ND license ACLS, PALS Must be willing to take call Must be able to perform epidurals, blocks, and spinals COVID Vaccination Fellowship training for cardiac or pediatric cases- Not Required Call On call (during the week): 7a-3:30p and night call 3:30p-7a - Night call must include 2.5 hours gratis On call weekends: 7a-7a, 24 hour call. - Must include 4 hours gratis Support Staff 4 CRNAs - no supervision required EMR TBD
