Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech CVOR

Job Details:

• Work 3 days per week with 12-hour shifts including 2 late shifts
• Call requirements per unit
• CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience required
• Function under direction of registered professional nurse
• Perform duties within moderate to high acuity surgical cases
• Prepare operative suite and surgical field to ensure safe patient care environment
• Maintain sterile field and monitor patient safety concerns
• Gather required instruments and supplies, serve as surgical assistant as needed
• Assist with inventory, ordering and stocking ORs and perioperative areas
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards at all times
• Required certifications: Certified Surgical Tech or Licensed Practical Nurse (preferred), Basic Life Support (BLS), National certification required
• Must have certificate or associate's degree from community college or technical school
• Must pass competency examination through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing
• Anticipate surgeon and healthcare team needs throughout procedures
• Maintain organized back table and operative field
• Perform surgical counts with circulator and participate in procedure pause/time-out
• Prepare sterile dressings and handle specimens appropriately
• Complete all initial and annual competencies, required mandatory education
