RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg Orthopedics Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratios: 1:5 during day shifts and 1:6 during night shifts
• Float to similar Med Surg Telemetry units (D1, F2) as needed
• Participate in daily MDRs on day shift Monday-Friday from 10:30-11:15 AM
• Required certifications: RN License, ACLS, BLS
• Must have Med/Surg and Telemetry experience
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and provide orthopedic care
• Administer IV medications including Lasix drip, heparin drip, IVP metoprolol, diltiazem, and insulin
• Provide wound care including drain management and VACs
• Manage NGT/G tube care and parenteral nutrition
• Handle central line management including PICC, HD catheters, and midlines
• Provide care for Foley, nephrostomy, and suprapubic catheters
• Perform ostomy care and postoperative patient care
• Perform NGT procedures on unit
• Use equipment including Hoyer lifts, automated BP machines, bladder scanners, remote telemetry monitoring, and vein finders
• Document using Altera/Allscripts Sunrise system
• Dress code: scrubs (prints or solids) and closed-toe shoes (no Crocs)

The Med Surg Telemetry unit features 48 beds with an average census of 27 patients and maintains excellent employee retention rates. The unit has invested in brand new blood pressure machines and maintains a fantastic team atmosphere with established monthly UPC meetings. The facility provides 24/7 support with unit secretaries during day shifts and patient care technicians maintaining appropriate ratios.
