Locum Tenens: Anesthesiology Physician Location: Near Bangor, MEDates: ASAP - Ongoing We are seeking a dedicated Anesthesiology physician for a locum tenens opportunity near Bangor, ME. This position is ideal for an experienced anesthesiologist looking to join a critical access hospital in a historic seaport area. The assignment offers a balanced schedule with call requirements and a supportive team environment. Position Overview: Position Type: Locum Tenens Specialty: Anesthesiology Start Date: January 1, 2025 End Date: September 1, 2025 Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call Practice Setting: Critical access hospital EMR System: EPIC Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Call Schedule: Every third, flexible Average Surgical Cases per Day: 14-16, including endoscopy Key Responsibilities: Provide anesthesia for general surgical cases, including minor nerve blocks, plexus anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and obstetrical cases Perform pain management procedures, including acute pain management and arterial line insertion Manage and evaluate acute volume and blood pressure issues No supervision of CRNAs required; physicians perform their own cases Prepare the anesthesia cart and handle pre-op documentation using Epic Work with congenial, professional, and helpful OR staff in a facility with three anesthesia sites per day Qualifications: Board Certification: Board Certified ABA required (candidates in the board certification process will be considered) State License: Licensed in Maine or willing to obtain Certifications: ACLS and BLS preferred Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days Additional Details: Practice Setting: No trauma designation Number of Operating Rooms: Three anesthesia sites including ORs and endoscopy rooms Patient Age Demographic: 3-100+ Call Ratio: Every third, flexible This opportunity offers a chance to work in a historic setting with a flexible schedule and supportive staff.
