Certs Required:LTC-CIP
Experience Required: 2-3 years minimum with Infection prevention.
Infection control knowledge: Deep understanding of standard and transmission-based precautions, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE), respiratory etiquette, and safe injection practices.
Cleaning and disinfection: Proficiency in proper environmental cleaning and disinfection procedures for resident rooms and reusable equipment.
Surveillance and data analysis: Ability to track infection rates, identify trends, conduct data analysis, and report findings to prevent outbreaks.
Outbreak management: Skills in detecting and managing outbreaks, which may include implementing isolation protocols.
Regulatory compliance: Knowledge of federal and state regulations and requirements for infection control.
Resident care practices: Understanding of care activities that carry infection risks, such as wound management, use of catheters, etc.
Antimicrobial stewardship: Knowledge of antibiotic stewardship principles to promote the appropriate use of antibiotics.
Certs Required:LTC-CIP REQUIRED
