Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the ICU will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center. This role requires specialized experience in a SICU/MICU/Trauma ICU setting, with the ability to float between various ICU areas and MedSurg/Tele units as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care to trauma patients and those with critical conditions such as GSWs, closed head injuries, and severe back surgeries.
- Titrate drips and read/interpret telemetry strips independently.
- Participate in bedside procedures including bronchs, trachs, and hemodialysis catheter placements.
- Maintain sterile fields in procedures and during SIMs Lab assessments.
Requirements:
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience in a 600+ bed teaching facility.
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required.
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance; two attempts allowed.
- Ability to float across ICU areas and MedSurg/Tele units as well as the St. Joseph Westgate campus.
