Hematology/Oncology Locum Tenens Opportunity near Auburn, NY (ASAP - Ongoing) We are currently seeking a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum tenens position near Auburn, NY. The locum provider will manage adult patients, focusing on both hematology and oncology care, with a small number of daily infusion patients. Position Details: Position Type: Locum Tenens, Hematology/Oncology (Outpatient). Assignment Duration: ASAP - Ongoing. Shift Type: Days. Patient Demographic: Adult patients. Setting: Outpatient clinic and some inpatient consults. Responsibilities: Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care, including ordering tests and prescribing treatment plans. Manage an average of 13-15 clinic visits per day and 5-7 infusion patients daily. Handle 0-2 hospital consults per day, when necessary, with minimal call responsibilities. Collaborate with a highly skilled clinical team to ensure the best patient outcomes. Ensure comprehensive care by monitoring patient progress, adjusting treatment plans, and consulting with colleagues as necessary. Required Duties: Hematology care (85% of the practice) and oncology care (15% of the practice). Order necessary tests and images. Prescribe medications and treatments for outpatient cases. Work closely with infusion staff to manage oncology patients. No radiation therapy (RT) provided at this location. Schedule: Day shifts with no emergency or temp privileges. Infrequent inpatient hospital rounding or call. Focus primarily on outpatient clinic services. Key Information: EMR System: EPIC (experience required). Support Staff: Full clinical and administrative support available. Travel Reimbursement: Includes flight, hotel, mileage at IRS rate, and rental car if applicable. Compensation: Orientation-based rate with additional travel reimbursements capped for hotel. Qualifications: Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology - Required. BLS Certification - Required. New York Medical License - Preferred. Experience with EPIC EMR - Required.
