Responsibilities

This is 24 Hr Solo Coverage for a rural hospital, typically 12-15 hours working with the remainder on call. Doctor will have sleeping amenities nearby or on-site.

  • Required Procedures:Intubation, vent management, lines, all procedures requried at this hospital.
  • COVID Vaccine Required?

Dates of Coverage Needed: 6/10/24-6/18/24 and 6/28/24-7/15/24

Certifications Required:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • ACLS

Credentialing Time Frame: 30 days, can push for emergency privileges

Setting: Inpatient, Critical Access Hospital- 24 bed unit, 5 ICU

Trauma Level: 4

Procedures: Lines, Intubations, Vent Management, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis

Patient Volume: 6

Support Staff: General Surgery, Ortho, Cardiology, cardiology, Sleep Lab, OB, GI, Neurology, Pulmonology

EMR: Allscripts Sunrise

Travel: Midland Base Saginaw

Administrative:

  • Sleeping amenities: Call room on site and food is provided
  • Credentialing timeline: Expedited Locums Credentialing
  • Licensing expedition available?

Critical Success Factors:

Collegial communication with nursing and administrative staff.

Evaluating patients in the Emergency Department at the time of admission.

High volume facility with census and acuity - all providers must be able to perform required intubations.

In the moment teaching with nursing staff while being open to questions - remaining approachable

Keeping pulmonary ICU level patients.
