Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring call rotation, weekend coverage, and a GA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) of a hospital setting
• Day shifts are scheduled as three 12-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
• Weekend coverage requires two 24-hour call shifts per 6-week period on either Saturday or Sunday
• Call responsibility consists of 7-8 shifts within a 6-week period
• Floating may occur within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Must be willing to work assigned major holidays; assignment periods with one holiday require working it, those with two require working both, and with three require working two holidays
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off is allowed, and no time off can be taken during the first week of the assignment
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Travel pairs may not be scheduled on the same shift within the same unit
• Standard orientation is bi-weekly; delayed compliance may result in a two-week start delay

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year PACU nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Two supervisory references from managers or above required for consideration
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed before start date
• Unit accepts first-time travelers
• Perm or PRN staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Return travelers must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont if previously unable to return
