Neuro ICU RN Job Details

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Neuro ICU nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New Mexico or compact state; pending license accepted)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Clinical skills: ICP monitoring, EVD insertions, Neuro post-op care, A-line and central line insertions, CRRT, post-TPA and post-thrombectomy care, ventilator management, dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Willingness to float to other ICUs, PCU, ED, and PACU as needed
• No local candidates within 75 miles of Albuquerque
• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Personal transportation required

Neuro ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill neuro patients, including TBI, SAH, SDH, tumor resections, status epilepticus, and other neurological disorders
• Monitor and manage ICP, EVDs, and CRRT equipment
• Provide post-operative care for neurosurgical patients
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other critical care units and care for diverse patient populations as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
