Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a compact RN license and pediatric critical care experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in a hospital setting
- Care for critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions
- 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week
- Assignment length of 13 weeks
- Responsible for managing an assigned group of patients and documenting responses to interventions
- Assist physicians with examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments
- Administer medications and intravenous infusions as prescribed
- Interact with patients and families to communicate care plans and discharge information
- Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff
- Positive working relationships and strong communication skills are essential
- May only extend once for a total of 26 weeks before requiring a 6-month separation for rehire eligibility
Requirements
- Active OK or compact RN license required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Some computer skills necessary
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
