The Cardiovascular/Vascular Surgeon provides hospital-based rounding and call coverage, primarily during nights and weekends, at a Level II trauma center. The role involves performing a variety of vascular and endovascular surgical procedures on adult and geriatric patients, including aneurysm repairs, carotid endarterectomy, and endovascular therapy for peripheral artery disease. Required qualifications include board certification in vascular surgery, fellowship completion, an active medical license, and up-to-date certifications in BLS and ACLS.
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a locum tenens Cardiovascular/Vascular Surgeon to provide hospital-based rounding and call coverage, beginning as soon as credentialing is complete. This role focuses on night and weekend coverage, managing a broad range of vascular and endovascular procedures for adult and geriatric patients at a Level II trauma center.
Dates / ScheduleStart Date: As soon as credentialed
Dates of Coverage: TBD
Schedule: Nights and weekends
Call Ratio: 2 3 weekends per month
Credentialing Timeframe: days (may be shorter with an active PA license)
Provide hospital-based and rounding coverage
Take call coverage including 24-hour, night, weekend, and callback shifts
Perform vascular and endovascular surgical procedures, including:
Aneurysm repair
Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) and carotid stenting
Femoral bypass surgery
Fistula creation
Endovascular and open reconstruction for deep vein occlusions
Endovascular therapy for PAD and limb gangrene
Treat additional vascular conditions such as:
Vascular malformations
Nutcracker syndrome
Lymphedema
Venous wounds and varicose veins
Practice environment details:
Level II trauma center
16 operating rooms
Average of 2 cases per day
Adult and geriatric patient population
Board Certified in Vascular Surgery (required)
Completion of Vascular Surgery Fellowship (required)
Active Pennsylvania medical license (required)
BLS and ACLS certification (required)
Clean malpractice history (required)
Ability to perform a full range of open and endovascular vascular procedures
Local providers preferred
