Our job summary

The Transportation Associate oversees the quality and efficiency of truckload shipments within a middle mile transportation network, ensuring proper loading, securement, and communication with carriers. This role involves physically inspecting trailers, updating transportation management systems, and collaborating with fulfillment teams to enhance loading processes. Candidates should have warehousing or transportation experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

The base pay for this position is $24.00/hr plus $2/hr shift differential between 6PM-6AM

The Transportation Execution team helps bring this to life by building and executing repeatable, scalable processes as goods are transported from our suppliers to our customers, all while embracing Wayfair’s entrepreneurial creative and fun atmosphere.

Available Schedules:

Sunday - Wednesday 7:30AM-6PM
Wednesday - Saturday 5:30PM - 4:00AM

What You'll Do

Assess loading quality of truckloads in our middle mile network, including utilization, load securement, and packaging damage.
Build strong partnerships with our fulfillment teams to drive improvements in loading practices.
Communicate directly with our truckload and small parcel carriers to adjust schedules, ensure on time pickup, and manage delivery performance.
Update Manhattan TMS with truckload movements and milestones.

What You’ll Need

2+ years of experience in a warehousing or transportation function - experience in dispatching or trailer loading are a plus
Ability to walk the cross dock floor and physically inspect trailers for load quality, including climbing stepladders
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Track record of building collaborative relationships and ability to partner with managers in other departments
Ownership mindset and ability to be a self starter
