Pediatrics Nurse Practitioners provide specialized care in Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU), managing critically ill children aged 0-17 with a patient-to-nurse ratio tailored to acuity. Responsibilities include performing advanced procedures such as intubation, lumbar punctures, and central line placements, and leading emergency response codes. This role requires certifications including PALS, BLS, and PNCB Acute Care, with at least two years of relevant experience in an inpatient hospital setting.

Work Details:
- Support staff: Intensivist coverage 24 hrs/day (from home at night), 31 RNs, 4 PCTs
- Amount of coverage needed per month: 2-3 shifts per week
- Patients per day: 7-15
- Patient population/age: 0-17 yrs, both picu and pediatrics-status patients
- Department description: This is a multi-organizational service unit with 14 beds licensed to serve both PICU- and Pediatric-status patients within the same unit. Our patient ratios are 4:1 for Pediatric and 2:1 for PICU. FMC is a Trauma Level 1 institution.

- Picu: 1 bed Peds: 12 beds, 7 working
- Special procedures: Intubation and vent management, lumbar puncture, central line placement, arterial line placement preferred
- Skills required: Competent in leading PALS Code Blue events
