Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position with remote telemetry responsibilities and night shifts, requiring a GA or compact license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
- Adult to geriatric patient population with an average daily census of 28
- Patient ratio is typically 1:5-6 on a 33-bed unit
- Common diagnoses include diabetes, post-operative care, bariatrics, and wound care with wound vacs
- Remote telemetry monitoring is part of the role
- Uses Epic EMR (experience required), Pyxis, and SBAR
- 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating to other units required
- No on-call responsibilities
- First time travelers are accepted for this assignment
- Must wear navy blue scrubs
- RTO up to 7 days allowed, none during the first week of assignment
- Expected to cover assigned major holidays during the contract period as per facility holiday rules
- Compliance must be completed prior to assignment start date; delays may result in rescheduled orientation
- Returning employees must have at least one year break from all Piedmont facilities to be eligible as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not permitted to be scheduled on the same shift and unit
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Current BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must submit two supervisory references for consideration
