The Gastroenterology Physician specializes in performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy, ERCP, colonoscopy, and biopsies. This role requires board certification in gastroenterology and an active state medical license, with preferred experience in advanced techniques like esophageal manometry and endoscopic ultrasound. The position involves call-only shifts focused on managing complex gastrointestinal conditions using various minimally invasive interventions.
Shift: Call only
Description:
- Upper GI Endoscopy with Biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser) preferred
- ERCP Diagnostic and Therapeutic with PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) preferred
- Esophageal dilatation/manometry preferred
- Esophageal manometry interpretation preferred
- Small Bowel biopsy preferred
- Lower GI endoscopy preferred
- Sigmoidoscopy (Flexible) preferred
- Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of the polyp preferred
- Liver biopsy preferred
- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is preferred
- Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tub preferred
Requirements:
- Board Status: Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Active SC State License only.
- Fellowship required
