Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract length with guaranteed 36 hours per week (48 hours available upon request)
• Overtime applies after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
• Three weekends out of every six-week schedule and every other holiday required
• Float requirement: First to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potentially Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross campus float assignments
• Patient ratio: Days 1:4-5, PMs 1:5-6, Nights 1:6-7
• Care for 23-bed observation medical-surgical unit
• Patient population includes cardiac, CVA/TIA, post-surgical, GI/Urology procedures, and detox/CIWA patients
• Required skills: Cardiac cath recovery, post-surgical care, NIHSS/neuro assessments, drip management (Heparin, Insulin), drain management, and blood administration
• Two years of strong Med/Surg experience and 1 travel assignment required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class
• Required certifications: Current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs only, no hoodies or competing health system logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
• Clinical interview required
