Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for an ICU Float Pool position in a Level 1 Trauma setting requiring a KS or compact RN license and current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in an ICU Float Pool covering Level 1 Trauma, Chest Pain Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center units
- Float between ICU, Med Surg floors, and potentially to a secondary campus as needed
- Night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- 13-week contract
- Local candidates are accepted but may be subject to a reduced rate based on facility radius rules
- Provide critical care nursing for complex trauma, cardiac, and stroke patients
- May float between multiple units and campuses based on facility needs
- Comprehensive support provided during orientation and training, including on-site CPI/MOAB training
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required
- Candidates may only apply to one position within the health system at a time
- Travelers are encouraged to discuss contract extensions at least 45 days prior to end of assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license in KS or compact state required
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification updated per assigned group
- CPI Blue Card Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills or MOAB De-Escalation Course online portion completed prior to start
- Completion of CPI/MOAB on-site training during orientation
- Must possess a valid US Social Security Number and US address
- Copy of Driver’s License required for consideration
