Job Title: Orthopedic Surgeon Surgery Hand & Foot/Ankle Specialist
Location: Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, Brattleboro, VT
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, a prominent community healthcare provider in southern Vermont, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated full-time Orthopedic Surgeon with specialization in Hand or Foot and Ankle Surgery to join our dynamic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine team. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive orthopedic care, with an emphasis on hand or foot and ankle surgical procedures.
- Manage patients in a hospital-based outpatient clinic setting at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.
- Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions, referring complex multi-trauma cases to tertiary care facilities.
- Utilize state-of-the-art MAKO robotic surgical technology within dedicated orthopedic operating suites to enhance surgical precision and outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of three orthopedic surgeons and four physician assistants to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Handle an average of 25+ patient visits per day, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Participate in a 1:4 general orthopedic call rotation, with physician assistants covering first call Monday through Thursday; surgeons provide backup as needed.
- Document and manage patient records using Cerner CommunityWorks EMR platform.
- Engage in ongoing clinical growth, benefitting from dedicated OR block time and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Certification Requirements:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery
- Valid DEA license and registration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
