The Shipping and Receiving/Will Call Desk role is responsible for customer-facing order processing, coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and maintaining an organized warehouse environment. The position requires strong communication, proficiency in technology, and physical ability to handle packages and equipment. This entry-level job supports warehouse operations and serves as the primary point of contact for customers and carriers during shipping and receiving activities.
Summary: The Shipping and Receiving (Will Call Desk) position is responsible for coordinating customer-facing order processing with daily shipping and receiving operations. This role serves as the primary point of contact at the Will Call desk, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, documentation, and communication with customers and carriers. The position supports warehouse operations by preparing shipments for pick up and maintaining records, while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, 2 Saturday(s) a month from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM

Compensation: This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $19 to $23 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $47,395 and $57,215 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers at the Will Call desk, assisting with order processing, inquiries, and coordination.
- Accurately process customer orders, ensuring correct product selection, quantities, and documentation.
- Read and interpret shipping orders to determine transportation needs and shipment requirements.
- Ensure all shipping and receiving documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
- Collect inbound freight documentation and route it to the appropriate record-keeping department.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight to support warehouse operations.
- Communicate with carrier representatives to arrange pickups, deliveries, and provide loading instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Complete equipment checklists and perform basic preventative maintenance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
Additionally, the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of warehouse experience required.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Customer-facing experience, including assisting with order fulfillment.
- Proficiency in using a tablet or iPad.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office tools, including administrative tasks, paperwork, filing, data entry, and email correspondence.
- Bilingual in Spanish required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
