Locum Gastroenterologist needed starting January 2025 near College Park, PA.
- Setting: Inpatient and outpatient; Locums must be willing to do both.
- Dates Needed: 1/2025 - Ongoing
- Schedule: M-F 8A-5P; when working in hospital/inpatient, they do not block time for lunch (usually just work through). If they work in the outpatient clinic, if the GI requests time for lunch, they will block some time for them. The locum physician will provide inpatient coverage the majority of the time.
- Call Schedule: 1:3 Every 3rd week and will include weekend; runs from Friday 5P to Friday 5P; call is shared with 2 other GI groups in the community
- Patient Volume: Inpatient: average of 12-15 per day; Outpatient: average 8-10 in a half day or roughly 15 in a full day. New patients usually are 1 hour visits; established patients take 30 minutes typically
- Other Staff on Site: 2 physicians, 2 PA s and 1 NP, 5 LPN/MA s, 1 Registrar, 1 RN Coordinator; the APPs cover the outpatient clinic mostly.
- EMR: Meditech Expanse
- Certification/License Requirements: BC or truly BE (BE is within 2 years of residency); Active PA license. Must be 100% comfortable with scoping (endoscopy/Colonoscopy all scopes are done in hospital until the Endoscopy center opens in early 2025)
- Locum may be required at 3 locations total all close to one another. The hospital, the current outpatient center and starting in Jan/Feb. 2025 there will be a new endoscopy center
- Credentialing: Can grant temp/emergency privileges for a clean physician. There are several online modules that need to be completed during the credentialing process.
- Daily Rate includes 8hrs Gratis. When taking weekend call, the weekend call rate will need to include the gratis hours as well.
- $500 referral bonus received for any referral who works 30 days.
