Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist in Merced, CA

This role plays a vital part in delivering high-quality obstetric services in a busy hospital setting, ensuring the well-being of mothers and babies while enjoying a competitive hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities include managing OB triage, overseeing deliveries, handling emergency gynecological cases, and consulting on complex cases. Our facility supports NICU Level II services, with an expected caseload of 1-4 deliveries per shift, utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system to ensure seamless documentation and communication.

Required Skills:

• Valid medical license with current board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Proven experience in obstetric care, including deliveries, OB triage, and emergency gynecology
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
• Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment

Nice to Have Skills:

• NICU Level II experience
• Additional certifications such as NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) or Fetal Heart Monitoring
• Previous experience in a hospitalist role or locum position

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 2 years of recent obstetrics practice
• Active California medical license or in the process of obtaining one

Other Requirements:

• Availability to work the 24-hour, 7a-7a shifts
• Compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding healthcare practice
• Willingness to travel and accept reimbursement for licensure, certifications, and other eligible expenses as applicable
