Senior Phlebotomist at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. This position is full-time and will work 8-hour, Day shifts.

Working under the supervision of the Cancer Center leadership team and in collaboration with the Cancer Center caregivers and providers. The Phlebotomy/Clinical MA is an individual with demonstrated clinical experience who provides ancillary assistance to clinical staff of the Cancer Center and its environs by: Demonstrating professional communication and interpersonal skills, superior organizational skills, and be able to deal effectively with multiple demands. Assisting in inventory ordering, receiving and stocking supplies/equipment, and maintaining inventory control. Participates in patient exam/procedural room preparation activities as directed. Ensuring the order, functionality, availability and cleanliness of supplies and equipment. Coordinates repairs and communicates to management of critical maintenance information. Participates in selected patient care activities such as greeting, escorting patient to exam/procedural rooms, logging/charting patient information in EMR (electronic medical record), room turnover, and specialized equipment set up/break down and high level disinfection processes. Patient preparation; height/weigh patient, vital signs, procedural preparations. Responding to phone calls and patient call system. Performs phlebotomy; coordinates collection of blood and other specimens from patients. Participating in meeting the department's budgetary objectives. Supporting the philosophy, objectives and goals of hospital administration, clinical leadership and its representatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License Or
• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License
• 1 year experience as MA Clinical Tech
• 9 months Phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Upon hire: Medical Assistant Certification (CMA)

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
