Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults. The RN coordinates patient care with the surgical team, directs and guides OR personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing, and works with other departments to ensure a continuum of care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Operating Room.
- Coordinate care between the patient, surgeon, and anesthesiologist.
- Direct and guide OR Technicians and other personnel.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
- Maintain adherence to regulations, standards, and hospital policies.
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (must be maintained).
- Minimum of one year of previous perioperative experience.
- Open-heart experience is required.
- Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) certification preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Pre/Post Op experience highly desirable.
