• Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive consultations and physical examinations for adult patients with a variety of hematologic and oncologic conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the healthcare team.
  • Manage and monitor treatment side effects and adjust plans as needed.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to guide treatment decisions.
  • Provide ongoing patient education and support to empower patients in their fight against cancer.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, pharmacists, and referring physicians, to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the Cerner electronic medical records system.

• Qualifications for Success:

  • Current board certification in Hematology/Oncology (BC/BE) is mandatory.
  • Valid and active medical license in the state of Arizona or a willingness to obtain an Interstate Medical License Compact (IMLC) is required. We are not seeking willingness to relocate or obtain additional licensure at this time.
  • Current certifications in ACLS and DEA are mandatory. BLS certification is preferred.
  • Experience using Cerner, the electronic medical records system used at the facility, is preferred.
  • Experience in a general medical oncology practice setting is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and staff.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment is crucial.
