Full Time Day/Night Rotation (36 hours), every other weekend, holidays, plus 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode.

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
• Assesses patient/family needs through active listening and analyzes information obtained through direct observation/assessment.
• Creates a developmentally, culturally relevant, and individualized plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Promotes and protects the health, safety, and rights of patients.
• Motivates patients and families by teaching self-care skills and monitoring progress.
• Documents education provided and patient/family response effectively.
• Evaluates quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and participates in self-evaluation.
• Develops helping, trusting, and caring relationships by engaging with patients and families.
• Demonstrates skill in medication administration and intervention.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure Required
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS
• One (1) Year Experience serving in Med/Surg Environment as a Registered Nurse Required
