This is a Locum Tenens position for a General Medicine Physician near Altus, Oklahoma, providing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments to veterans. Are you a compassionate and dedicated physician looking for a rewarding opportunity to serve our nation's veterans? We are currently seeking General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams + Separation Health Assessments across the country, including near Altus OK.
Details:
- This position offers flexibility on a PRN basis, with ongoing needs for coverage.
- We welcome providers from various specialties, including family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or anyone with a background in general medicine or experience with compensation and pension.
- Two options for coverage are available: travel and perform exams at VES leased facilities or schedule veterans within your own practice.
- Providers have the option to work half days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours).
- Exams primarily involve interviews with patients, supplemented by physical assessments such as range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing or treatment is involved in these exams.
- Quick credentialing and onboarding processes are in place, with DMA certification available to obtain CME credits if not already certified.
- Familiarity with musculoskeletal, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions is required, along with proficiency in METs testing and evaluating respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Candidates must have their own personal laptop (NO MACs) for documentation purposes.
- Training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), with completed forms to be submitted within 48 hours post-exam. Evaluations will be completed in VES's provider portal, with record review required in most cases.
- Follow-up administrative work, including addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics, will be required on a regular basis.
