Job Description

The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients in our region, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, and multi-system organ dysfunction. Candidates must be competent in caring for medical and surgical populations and be familiar with advanced hemodynamics and titration protocols.

Responsibilities

• Administer antihypertensive drips, sedative and Narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics.
• Provide care involving advanced procedures such as a-line, CVP monitoring, EVD management, and ortho traction.
• Implement infection prevention protocols and manage high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP/CPAP, and oxygen-dependent therapies.
• Care for 3 high-acuity patients on average per shift.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Epic experience required.
• Competency test required within 24 hours of submission.
• ACLS certification is mandatory.
• Experience in adult Progressive Care Units (PCUs) and community hospital ICUs is preferred.
